The Department of Economics at American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates invites applications for two regular (rolling-contract) positions at the Assistant Professor rank. Candidates must have a PhD in Economics, preferably from North America, by the starting date (August 2026). Fields are open. Applicants must have a strong research agenda and teaching skills and must be able to work effectively with a diverse student body. The teaching load is 3+3 small sections per year. The university curricula, teaching standards, and employment norms are aligned with the American model of higher education. The salary is competitive and tax-free in the UAE. Seed research funds, free housing, paid utilities, and other benefits are also provided.
