Banco de México, the Mexican central bank, is interested in hiring newly qualified or experienced Ph.D.'s in economics or related fields, for its headquarters in Mexico City, to work at its Research Directorate ("Dirección General de Investigación Económica").

The main tasks expected of the hiree are to carry out high-quality, policy-oriented research for publication in refereed journals and for the Bank's senior management. All hirees will eventually need a good command of written and spoken Spanish, in order to perform policy work.

The Research Directorate offers an excellent working and research environment, intense external and internal seminar series, workshops, conference travel support, access to proprietary data, a multinational workforce and competitive compensation.

We will be interviewing and flying-out selected candidates starting December 2025. Applicants should submit a CV, a research paper, three letters of reference, and, specifically, a cover letter explaining their interest in working for Banco de México and living in Mexico City, using econjobmarket.org. Experienced candidates can provide a list of references instead of reference letters.
